MicroRaptor Games was founded in 2023 with the desire to make exceptionally fun games that aren't held back by corporate greed, or rushed out the door before they're ready by poor production schedules or managers who don't know what they're doing.

Our team has a flat structure where good ideas reign supreme and egos are squashed flat. The leadership are developers, and the developers are gamers.

Game designer by trade, gamer by addiction, Joey has extensive knowledge of games and systems, and an intense desire to stand out as a developer who is himself a part of the community.

Lengthy company handbooks, corporate models of communication, and generic values that nobody in the company really represents or follows? Not for us.

Transparency

Transparency isn’t just about the removal of barriers in communication, but about being free to say what you believe without fear or worry. Problems can only be solved through discussion, and nobody acts as if they’re infallible. We’re adults making games and having fun.

But transparency extends beyond us developers. The same level of respect and openness is given to our community. If we have an issue, we share it. There won’t be any facades, and we won’t hide the gritty reality of our development.

Collaboration

To us, collaboration is more than just working together. It means that we’re a team, and we’re all on equal terms. Anyone can be a feature owner, and egos are nowhere to be found. Mistakes WILL be made, but we’ll always work together to solve any issues and prevent it from happening again.

Additionally, our collaboration includes our community. Our games are made for the players, and their voices are integral to MicroRaptor. Excluding them from the conversation is disrespectful to their time and financial investment. Sometimes the best ideas are found outside of our field of vision, and that’s where our community can help shape the game they want to play!

Ethics

Of all the business terms to throw around, this one gets used way too much, and is often very vague. So, what do we mean? To us, being ethical with each other means understanding that we’re all human. We have bad days and weeks, we all have fears, and we all have deficiencies. Everyone deserves their free time. We DO NOT crunch.

Being ethical about our products and with our community is one of our largest goals. We WILL NOT integrate cash shops, microtransactions, premium currencies, NFTs, blockchain tech, or anything else that intends to dupe, con, take advantage of, or hurt the player experience in our games. Ever.
